Investigating Forelimb Lameness

Dr Hannes Bergmann DrMedVet DipECVS MRCVS, Orthopaedic and Soft tissue European Specialist Surgeon, discusses the approach to forelimb lameness, including investigative work-up and the common conditions that are seen in first opinion small animal practice.

Hannes graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna in 2001. He was awarded a Doctorate degree after undertaking research in canine pain management at the School of Veterinary Medicine in Hannover, Germany. Hannes received his specialist surgical training at the University of Berne, Switzerland, and became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2008. Hannes holds the European and RCVS Small Animal Surgery specialist status. After working at multidisciplinary referral centres for many years, he started his own surgical referral service in 2015. Hannes is also Surgery Course Director for Improve International and is lecturing on numerous surgical topics in the UK and abroad.
