Accelerating Success: vHive Incubator Companies meet with the Surrey Women’s Entrepreneurship Network (SWEN)

In my head, I’ve always been an entrepreneur, but I feel I’ve not always been able to BE an entrepreneur.

– Eve Hanks (MiRNA founder) on the challenges some women face for mothers to prioritise family security over the inherent uncertainty of founding a start-up.
Earlier this year, we got the opportunity to bring four of our founders from Aviasenze, MI:RNA Diagnostics, Zonova and Co-Founder of the Animal Health Angels, together with Surrey Women’s Entrepreneurship Network (SWEN) to ask them what it is like being a female founder in the Animal Health sector.
In 2023, women accounted for only 13.2% of all start-up founders. We are proud to say that half of our start-ups on the vHive Incubator are female founded! So, we brought them together under the SWEN banner to discuss their journeys into entrepreneurship.
This candid conversation on the highs and lows and everything in between is a must-listen for budding female founders in the animal health world and beyond:
Animal Health is a rapidly growing market, set to reach nearly $50 billion by 2032. With nearly 70% of vets identifying as women, who understand the core challenges of the sector, there is an abundance of potential leaders in this space.
